Adaptation is Key for Climate Change

‘You’re far better off to prepare and get ahead of the curve than just keep waiting for these things to happen,’ – Blair Feltmate, head of the Intact Centre on Climate Adaptation at the University of Waterloo.
As extreme weather continues to wreak havoc across the world some cities are choosing to take a proactive approach and make climate adaption a priority. Burlington is an example where a disastrous extreme weather event in 2014 caused the city to look ahead and prepare for future flooding risks.
One of the key spokespeople for climate adaption is Dr. Blair Feltmate who heads Intact Centre on Climate Adaptation. Dr. Feltmate has also been announced to head a new expert panel on Climate Change Adaptation and Resilience on behalf of the federal government.  With Dr. Feltmate’s experience and knowledge on climate change adaptation best practices, we are happy to have him as a key supporter of our project.
